Open door alarm

My right rear door open door alarm won't turn off with the door closed. Anyone have this issue before? is there a fuse i can check, if so where and which one? could it be a bad door sensor?

Thanks.

I was looking at that thread, but my switch/sensor is connected. I can push it in and feel it. I guess it could be faulty..?

I was messing around with it and noticed that the rubber garment is missing on that door(attached pic). It looked like it was moved more towards one side so I moved it the other side and closed the door and the open door alarm was gone. I stuck a piece of paper in there seem to help. My car alarm has been going off every now and then, could this be connected?

could it be this some how be open door alarm be turned off/disconnected until i find a fix?

Based on the diagnostics you did I would say yes. Again remember we are talking about a simple electrical connection in a circuit. So even a small amount of movement may be the difference between setting off the alarm or not. And I'm assuming you mean grommet, not garment. Auto-correct can be a PITA.

You can disable the door alarm by removing the pin switch. Just tape the wire connector to the door jam until you get the replacement part.

Check the door striker. I just had this problem on my driver side front door, and the striker was loose. I just had to pop the cover off and tighten the two screws and I'm back in business.
