Rear Brake Pads Seized 2014 ILX
Hey Guys,
So I have a 2014 ILX 5 speed. Recently I went to an acura dealership in burlington and they told me My rear brake pads were seized and that I would need new pads as well as the rotors resurfaced. I was amazed knowing that my car has only been upto 50k as of now. They also told me my front rotors needed to resurfaced because I told them that I was feeling a bit of a wobble when applying the brakes on the steering but not too much. All together they were charging me 600 and I was like WTF no forget about. Please let me know any reliable online store where I could find brake pads from with a good price
Thanks!

Yea sounds like a greedy service advisor at a dealer. FUCK THAT. even if you need those services, sounds like way too much to me. (I worked at a Honda dealership). Dude just find a good reliable local Honda/Acura mechanic.
My rear brakes were also done after 50,000 miles. I didn't need rotor resurfacing, but I live in sunny Southern California. If you deal with harsh weather like snow, that may have caused that issue. the local Acura dealer wanted to charge me $170 to change the rear brake pads with OEM ones. Instead i went to Buddy Club USA in person, (in so cal) and bought Racing Spec rear brake pads for $35 bucks (regular $85, they are discontinuing them, so closeout price). Then I payed my mechanic $30 to throw them on. I paid almost 1/3 of the dealership price AND I have racing spec brake pads on now. If you try to look for Buddy Club USA's distribution center/warehouse's phone number online, you might be able to order them over the phone.
ALSO - I'd suggest you look into buying drilled and slotted performance rotors. I generally have a mentality of getting the best replacement stuff i can get when stuff breaks or just needs replacement. I mean, for example, what if it costs like $100-$200-$300 to resurface all the rotors? And then you look online and find brand new performance ones that cost the same? OR EVEN CHEAPER then the cost of resurfacing? If it was me,I'd say it's the right time to upgrade.
*** find out what the mechanic will charge you to mount the new performance rotors, since that will cost more then just changing out brake pads, obviously.
