Official fix to the subwoofer rattle...?

Official fix to the subwoofer rattle...?
This is probably the only problem i've had with my TL in the 40,000 miles that are now on the clock. Anytime a song with a decent amount of bass kicks in, the rear deck area goes nuts. It makes the entire system sound like shit...I've taken it to the dealer twice and they were never really able to fix it. One time they put dynamat in the surrounding area, and another they replaced the entire deck completely. I know this is a common problem with the 3G TL, just wondering if there is an official fix for it yet? Also, I checked the brake light area, its fine.

I would look at the child seat anchor covers, mine rattles, a little bit of foam took care of it. If that doesn't solve it, it could be the center seatbelt retractor, and if not, the deck could be touching the glass

I put a cloth behind my sub. It's between the rear windshield and the plastic. That is where my rattle came from. Get a microfiber cloth, roll it up, and stick it in between. It solves the rattles back there.

One thing that pisses me off, is that acura says the dam speaker system is so good, so i was like okay there is another reason to buy the car. But after the 2day i compared it to my 05Pontiac G6 and they pwned the acura speakers in everway,BASS,TREBLE,CLEARNESS, one thing i hate the most about this speaker system is if i turn my volume up to 10 the sub freaking sounds like shit. All u can hear is rattles. And els is the worst speaker system ive seen. Even my 95 Grand Am had better bass.

check the back of the deck closest to the window...
when ur bass is rattling
press ur finger lightly on the deck and watch ur rattle disappear...
u have to insulate the rubber or plastic piece underneath it...
i took mine to rosenthal and they ended up ordering a new rear deck and they dynamtted everything for me...
it sounds fine now...
im actually adding a 12 inch sub so i will hear some rattles soon...

JJaber,
I took my Type S into the dealership for the exact same thing. My got fixed the first time by the dealership. I was told it is the seatbelt assembly that is rattling. So they removed the back seat and tightened up the seatbelt assembly close to the speaker. They also added some insulation and I've never had the problem again.

How did they tighten it up? I have mine apart and am hoping to tighten it because dynomat is not helping.

Random but functional fix!
I appreciate the other member's suggestion that the subwoofer rattling might be the rear defrost strip (piece of plastic next to rear window) and after inspection, sure enough it was the rattling zone! I simply took a small strip air fresher that went in one of the front vents and (carefully) using a screwdriver wedged the air fresher between the glass and plastic strip directly in the center of the window. It's barely visible and totally solved the issue lol
