Odd sound from front right passenger side

So the past few days I've heard a strange sound coming from the front right passenger side of my car. It seems to happen only right after I press the gas pedal at low speeds after the car shifts into gear, almost from the weight transfer of the car moving forward. It sounds like a mixture of a low gurgle and knocking sound. I tried to replicate the sound with the car in neutral and just revving the gas to see if it was knocking, but it didn't come back. It almost sounds like something is loose in my suspension or something.

Any ideas? I did throw a P0174 code recently, but it went away. May head to the dealership next week to see what's up.

Loose/misaligned heat shield or bad motor mount.

This sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing.

So I had this checked out today by my friend / Honda tech at the local dealership. He couldn't quite pin down the noise but it mostly went away after he tightened a bunch of subframe bolts and double checked the tie rods, sway bars, everything that could possibly make the noise. He thinks it could potentially be the non-torsional engine mount on the driver's side. Apparently it's a pain to get to, so I'm going to just live with it and if it gets worse I'll have it swapped out during my 90k service.

As far as the P0174 CEL, he did the TSB reflash and the car feels a lot smoother and it should solve the issue. All is well

Cool.

Glad it wasn't the timing belt/water pump TSB you linked earlier.

Thanks me too! Chris said it was coming from the exact opposite side of the car from the WP/TB. I'll just chalk it up to growing pains, my car has just over 81,000 miles already!

I have the exact same issue. Your description is spot on.

Bumping my old ass thread.

So fast forward to almost a year later. I originally thought it was a motor mount and figured I would wait until my 105k to get it checked out again. So my mechanic looked at it again and the mounts were all just fine. He did a full power steering service including replacing a few of the o-ring seals in the system (I don't know much about the details behind what is done). It seemed to have fixed the issue...the system was bled and any air was let out and I'm not hearing it anymore.

So any of you guys still having this issue, maybe take a peek at your power steering system and the seals.
