Noise when reversing

I was reversing out of a parking spot today. I had the steering wheel turned all the way to the left and began accelerate and reverse out. As I did this, I heard a low moaning noise coming from the front (more likely the right front). It sounded similar to a wheel rubbing noise, but there were no signs of that. I was able to get it to repeat a couple more times, but not consistantly. I then tried it with the wheel turned completely to the right, but couldn't get the noise.
My car is completly stock setup.
I called Acura after that and they told me it is normal whenever the wheel is turned completely to one side. If that's the case, then my question is why couldn't I get it to happen when I turned it the other way?
I've had my '05 for almost 2 1/2 years now and this is the first time I have noticed this sound.
Anyone else ever heard this sound or had it happen? And if so, is there a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Your description sounds similar to the noise my 2007 TL-S 5AT has made when shifted into reverse. The noise almost sounds as if something metallic is caught underneath the front end and is grinding upon the pavement when the car is moved. There is another thread going about this noise on this page. The dealer kept my car for many days, and still cant find a solution.

First check the power steering fluid level and then the CV joints for torn boot.
There could be actual wear of the CV bearing- that will make noise when low speed turning
Have a shop put on rack and listen with stethascope for bearing noise

One direction and not the other can be from the rotation of the steering pump and the forces applied during turn.

Ar you going full lock turn when this happens or just basic turn as you back out?

I usually never go 'full lock' turn, but I think that I did have it fully turned when it happened. It hasn't happened again after work and also when I was home this evening.
The dealer did say that it can be from the rotation of the steering pump and the forces applied during turn. I'm bringing the car in on Tuesday morning.
If anyone has found any problem related to this or solution, keep me posted.
I did inspect the CV boots and they all look fine. I'll check the power steering fluid level tomorrow morning.
Thanks guys!

Full lock puts massive strain of the steering pump and rack assembly
Check the fluid and avoid severe useage

I just checked the power steering fluid and it's a hair below the 'upper level' line. I tried to repeat the noise this morning, but no luck. I'm hoping it was just a rare instance which I had the wheel at 'full lock'.
Do you think I should still get it checked out at Acura?
Also, if it was the CV boots, bearings, etc., wouldn;t there be some noise when I drive? I had the radio off and windows down all day yesterday wherever I drove and also this morning and heard nothing...just the drone of the wind through my car! lol

Thanks

Wind noise overpowers bearing noise, thats why you only hear cv creaking as you first get the car rolling at very low speed- click click clickclikclcickkcclcl

Have a private shop put it on the lift and do a running test of the CVs- they use a stethascope to check closely for bad sounds

Check the ps fluid cold and hot to be sure, and avoid those full lock turns or even turning the wheels when the car is stopped- get it going just a little and then turn the wheel- easier on the steering pump
