Is this noise normal?
Hi Guys,
I am having issues with my 05 Acura TL. Every time I turn on the AC I get a annoying ticking sound from the compressor. I took it to the dealer to check it our and he told me that it was normal for the compressor to sound like that.
I would like to ear your opinion? And if it comes down it I will take it to a different dealership to get a second opinion.
Thanks guys in advance
P.S. --- I took a vid and posted on youtube please check it out.

it sounds like something in there is about ready to fail. The AC compressor in my TSX blew a hole in the side of the casing when the insides broke doen, it was a $2000 fix. Fortunately it was under warranty. Apparently it was sort of common with the TSX.
I haven't heard the same thing about the TL AC Compressors going bad, but something definitely sounds rattly inside there.

Get a $5 mechanics stethascope- any parts store or Harbor Freight!
You can track most any ticking tapping rattling noises to their exact source-
it may be a compressor bearing, or something ~cheaper~ like the ac belt tensioner
My 01s started making slight noise at 45k miles- not warranty, let it go until 80k miles when it sounded like a valve was getting ready to come out of the engine~
So much nicer to have a silent engine again

I'm taking the car to a different dealership tomorrow. The good thing is that my cousin works in for that Acura Dealership. He was the one that told me to check it out. Hopefully I get this sucker replace ASAP.
Thanks guys and I'll keep you guys posted.
