Noise at 2500rpm

I have a 2005 AT TL that squeals at 2300-2600 rpm. I've been trying to pin it down to specific events...

-Only happens when the engine is cold.
-Only happens when the car is in motion.
-Does not happen when it is moist outside (raining)

I've been to the dealership many times and all that they came up with so far is to change the belt...problem is still there.

Anyone have a solution?

I had a noise at same RPM levels and took it to the dealership twice and it was the heat shield. They replaced and it and I no longer have the noise.

Carl is right, it's the heat shield. There's a bulletin on it from Acrua somewhere.

In the Acura Service News in June 2006 .

Let us know if that fixed your problem.

Thanks for the info. Just got my car back this afternoon. Waited until tonight to do the test drive.

Problem fixed. It was the heat shield.

Cheers

In all honesty, it sounded like a Spanish maraca with the beans spinning inside.

I have it also, i went to the dealer before and they told me that they know of the problem and it could not be fixed, but one of these days I will go back and demand them to fix it because they were just being lazy assholes.

I think what they are saying is that they hear the problem but they do not know how to fix the problem.

My suggestion would be for you to print off the Acura Service News in June 2006 (in the trail above) and have them fix the problem.

The way I saw it was that I purchased a 45K car and then I have to deal with a squealing sound every morning????
