Nice surprise...

Earlier today someone scraped my rear bumper and also some of the rear lip in a parking lot.Its not much but was perfect until now. Can I buff this out with a detail? Touch up paint but that wont look good. I kind of want to repaint, what do you guys think? ...

You'd have to check with an experienced body man but i can confirm that touch up paint is going to look very cheap and its more noticeable than a lot of people think even when used correctly.

My body shop has always advised if you put your nail through the panel and feel the dip then it is not buff-able. That really irritates me as well. GL.

no buff, gotta paint. I would have thrown knucks if i seen someone hit my TL and run off. there would have been problems lol.

THIS is the exact reason that I park my TL way the eff away from everyone else in parking lots. Other people don't care about their car like we care about our TL's.

that's a repaint. is it all the way through the paint to the plastic?

somebody did this to our accord, but also gouged a small chunk of the bumper too. we'll be getting a replacement and respray (the most cost effective and time efficient method for us).

sorry this happened. it's aggravating.

I notice you live in NYC-impressed you have not had bumper scratches sooner. The bumper is a very hard part to match with paint. My bumper was replaced after getting hit in the rear at a redlight. Other driver's insurance paid. Even tho I am careful where I park, the bumper now has new scratches. They will have to wait-other priorities with my house will come first.
