New HFL unit and still have problems
New HFL unit and still have problems
I had the infamous "Booting Up" error for my Handsfree link. Also the diagnostic screen (Guide, Menu and Cancel) showed red for HFL. I installed a new HFL unit today. The diagnostics screen shows that it is good (it's green) but I'm getting a "No Information available" in the gauge screen. Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do next?
Have you started the HFL setup to pair a phone yet?If not, start with "set up" to pair a phone.
If yes, what happens?
When you push on the HFL activation switch, does it generate a beep?
If yes, say "system" and follow the prompts which follow.
If no, check to make sure the HFL connector is securely plugged in-- remove the HFL bezel, then unplug and reconnect the HFL.

Once you say "system," the HFL should respond with "options are 'setup' and 'clear'" before it starts to guide you through the phone pairing process.

Will Y: thank you for trying but so far nothing has worked. When I push the TALK button I get a beep and system performs commands for the nav, radio and A/C but not the phone. When I say "System" it goes to screen setup. If I say "phone setup" it does nothing. According to the diags screen the HFL unit is good; it's just not registering with the system.
The reason I ask is because Navi voice command will activate the screen setup, but not phone setup, on my 2005.
The Navi voice command switches are adjacent to the HFL switches, but each switch is independent and controls only one system or the other.
