New Brakes for a "regular" TL/5AT
All the posts I found while searching seemed to be for Brembo Type S brake set ups. I just have a regular TL 5 speed AT and 55k miles on it. Guess I need new pads for front and back and the dealership wants $800. Figure I can buy them online and take them to a local mechanic instead.
Just looking for a good replacement for the factory pads. Don't believe I need new rotors (or is that standard to replace both at the same time).
Thanks for your help.

Full of water...
you probably dont need rotors. i chose to replace all when i did mine. i bought the parts and did it myself, it was my first brake job.
i bought the RacingBrake 1-piece rotors and RB ET500 pads. i bought them from heeltoe, one of the vendors here. the price was like $560 for parts, then i spent a little more for some of the tools like a caliper tool and an impact wrench screwdriver.
here is the link, and if you type"acurazinerocks" in to the promo code you get a % off and there is free shipping.

this setup was a huge improvement over stock...

If you only need brakes just get the oem ones for about 150 for both rear and front and do it yourself. 800 is a lot for just brake pads and labor, just get a local mechanic to do it.

these stupid dealers love charging stupid amounts for simple jobs. Brakes should be included any way so should oil changes...but at the rate i change my oil every (3500-4000miles)they wouldn't honor it
