I was waxing the car the other day and i noticed peeling on my Driver's Side side skirt. I tried waxing over it and it got worse. I'm thinking maybe its a clear film that peeling? If anyone has any ideas on how to stop it please chime in, i was thinking maybe nail polish

 

looks like a form of clear coat failure. not much you can do except repaint.

touchup paint will only make it look worse and wont help slow it down.

 

^^^ He is right ... not a lot that can be done but a respray ..


My sons S10 did that on the "A" pilar and I wet sanded it back to where it wouldn't flake any more ... then I wet sanded & prepped the rest of the area and then I rattle can cleared it and then wet sanded & polished and it made it a good 10 foot job.

 

I'm thinking that only works on pantyhose lol. Sounds like a McGuiver move tho lol
