I agree, $122 sounds like a rip just for a bulb, but that's primarily for labor due to the # of things they have to take apart to get to the damn switch.

Then bulb is in the switch. The dealer replaced my entire switch under warranty when my set heat light died because they said it easier just to replace the whole switch assembly. They said since the console assembly is 'opened up' to the extent it was, they just went ahead and replaced the other switch too while they were at it.

The light inside that switch doesn't use a bulb and I dont think you can easily replace it. You would rather replace the whole switch which is ~$17. This will work for 04-06 TL and not sure if 07-08 uses the same switches but you can search for them on the site if you have 07-08 TL.

Its probably as much fun getting to the switches,,, as removing the radio to gets its serial number when you lose the lock code

$122 would be an hour labor plus the switch

You can get the bulbs, suggested list is like 3 or 4 dollars a bulb. Acura gave us a service news to replace them instead of the switch.

You know i noticed my passenger side light is out aswell, not sure if it happened before or after i had USSpec unit installed.

Lol yeah 17 dollars for a whole switch sounds alot better than 122 for a bulb. Seems like an easy replace.

Bulbs are a "wear item." "Wear items" are normally never covered by warranties because, as the name implies, they're expected to wear out, and they'll wear out at different times for different people (e.g., if you drive with your lights on all the time, you can reasonably expect bulbs to wear out sooner than if you don't).

Some of my interior lights are out as well on my '04 and I have just under 50,000 miles. Strikes me as quite premature, but so far I have not bothered to do anything about it.

I have never done this before, but using the diagram as a reference:

1. Remove #5 and #9 with a flat head, just pop them out, they are held on by clips.
2. Remove shift knob by untwisting it, remove shift boot (if car is manual), remove #6.
3. Unscrew all screws from panel #4 and remove.
4. Remove switch and replace.

remove srews #25 (gold) and 2 black screws behind it.
this will seperate the center arm res tand cup holder. just slide it the whole thing tords the back seat
the bulbs are easy to get and no f'n around the shift knob and lower pocket
