Hey Guys,
Ive had my TL for a while and LOVE IT!
about 3 months as i was driving (brooklyn roads) i hit a raise plate that DOT put out to cover their holes, and the corner of the plate hit my DOWN pipe (not sure the proper name of the pipe but its the one that connects to the heads and has a catalytic converter) .
As UPSET as i got i went to the dealer and bought a new part (2 pipes not sure what they were anymore) $700 PArts plus $400 labor, The mechanic noticed a hairline crack in my aluminum sub frame and notified me of it . Not thinking much of it then i let it slide by.... This morning i went to get a wheel balancing to stop my car from vibrating on high speeds. Balancing did nothing...
I went to a shop lifted the car and saw that that crack is about 1/2"
NOW I NEED A NEW SUBFRAME...
Called Dealer and its over $1000.00 ? (I think $1197) or something...

and labor is $300 for install and $75 for alignment
Any Sugst?

Maybe get a used sub frame? i just feel that if i get it from a junk yard chances are the car was in a collision and if the frame is off i loose on labor $
