Need Help Pleasee.. Door Handle Piece Came Off

Hi,

So, basically the title says it all.. pretty ghetto. One day, the piece that is part of the passenger door handle came off as one of my passengers was getting in. The piece had an end that broke off where it clips onto the door. I was thinking about supergluing it back on, but I'm afraid I may have to take off the piece in the future in case anything were to happen. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

It's also raining out here in LA for the next week.. should I be afraid of any water damages?

Thanks!!

Do not be afraid of water damage. Just stop by your Acura dealer and pick one up. It's a known problem.. nothing to sweat. I believe it's ~$12 from Acura

You need a new cap-- get one from a dealer tomorrow.
If you're under warranty, it's covered by a TSB.

It's a simple fix. You do NOT need to remove the inner door panel to install it. Just pull the base in the door a little "out" as you insert the new trim piece. It will pop in place with a click sound.

Mine came off in the carwash. I had to get them to stop the wash for a minute and walk through to find it. I superglued it back on and no problems since. IMO it's not worth the drive to the dealer and the $10 when you can just glue it back on. If that piece ever has to come back off, you can bet it's going to be a bodyshop doing it, not yourself so I wouldn't worry about it.

I had mine fall off the two front doors. I looked at them and realized it'll probably happen again with new ones due to the cheap piece of plastic that holds them on. I used Seal-All on all 4 (just to be sure they wouldn't fall off and get lost) and none of them have budged since.

I'd vote glue it back on.
