Need Help - Electrical or Tranny? this -just- happened..

I have a 2005 TL Auto and I've been having some electrical issues with my passenger HID and my door locks. Maybe it has something to do with the battery, i dont know..

BUT, on my way today to take the car in for a service to figure out whats wrong, this happened:

I am driving 80km on the highway and all of a sudden my rpms rev up and i have no power.. im stuck in whatever gear im in.. so i pull over, turn of the car, wait a minute, start the car back up and everything is fine.. for 1 minute until it happens again. this time i pull over and wait 5 min.. when i start the car up again now the car wont even engage when i put it in gear. i put it in drive and hit the gas and it just revs.

so i shut the car off.. and here is whats odd, after 5 min i try to start the car again and see if the rev issue is still there but my battery is now dead.

anyone???

my car is at acura right now and im worried they will simply say 'its your tranny' without looking into the possibility of electrical issues? it just seems too coincidental that im having these electrical issues then i have this tranny issue without hearing any loud bang, or major noise from a typical trany break, AND the fact that my battery dies at the same time..
