Need help changing a few options on 07 TL

Well I drive a TSX but today my mom picked up an 07 TL and there a few things we don't like and I am hoping you guys can help me fix them. First off, the car autolocks itself even if you open and close the door. I know on my TSX it will stay unlocked if you open and close the door until you hit the lock button on the key fob. Then, when it locks and unlocks it honks. It isn't just a nice little beep like my TSX, it's a full honk and it's extremely loud and annoying. You could even say its obnoxious. And it isn't even when you push lock twice, if you just push lock once it still honks. Also, right under the steering wheel there is a little black plastic thing that has a green led, is that part of the alarm system or possibly an after market alarm?
Another thing I just remembered. The alarm keeps going off when I am just trying to unlock the car. I just push unlock once and the damn alarm goes off. It has done this twice.
So far, I absolutely hate the TL My TSX doesn't have any of these problems, so hopefully these issues can be fixed. Would be sad if the "upgraded" version of my car turns out to be worse

sounds like the guy before u modded the car a bit before he turned it back in to the dealership ... you could try editing some stuff such as the car autolocking when exiting the car i think using the MID

I have an 08 TL-S and am able to control the auto locking time through the Navi interface. I think you can change it from immediate lock to 30 and 60 seconds. Possibly 90 seconds. As far as a black box under the steering column, I haven't noticed anything under mine. So that may be an aftermarket alarm of some sort. Hope this helps.

Ok, what it sounds like is the dealership had some kind of alarm on it and they forgot to take it off, so maybe that is making it honk too. This car is a headache. Literally, the alarm is extremely loud and you can't turn it off.

It has an aftermarket alarm, get it removed. This is the root cause of all your problems.

Through the Navi Interface? Really or typo? The '04 - '07 are through the steering wheel buttons that control the MID.

For the OP: Sounds like the car is OK, but the aftermarket/dealer alarm is a PITA.

The Owners Manual has all the info on how the TL AutoLocks, sets the alarm, etc. I'd think it'd be similar to the TSX; maybe not identical, but not annoyingly or radically different.
