My Car Wont Start!!

My Car Wont Start!!

I just installed my shifter cable bushings yesterday, however once i put everything back together and tried to turn my car on it wouldnt start! i was in my drive way and rolled down and bump started it. the car runs just as normal when i bump start it. i just cant get it to turn over with the key... its like trying to turn the car on with the clutch not engaged. can somebody help!!?

Sounds like you may have failed to reconnect the starter, shorted something in the starter or reversed some wiring when installing the bushings-- get under the car and check the wiring again.

pictures in circle is a connection to the starter that sometimes get loose, you might want to check that out. Other members here whack the starter too, but check the connection first.




it's from a CL-S 6spd but identical to TL 6spd.

where exactly is this located? is this underneath the stock air filter box? i was looking everywhere for this tonight. does anybody have a picture of this on the TL?

tap the starter a few times with a screwdriver and hammer. if it starts than you need a starter. i just replaced one today.

i took it to the dealership and had them look at it, they ended up replacing the whole starter. The cool thing is that they covered it under warranty and my warranty expired two days later! i took it in on monday and it expired on wednesday. i was going to wait til the weekend to take it in too but i hated having to get out and push it and then hop in to start it. haha

good thing i took it in right?
