My car completely DIED! any thoughts please??
And by dead I mean completely gone. My remote entry won't work, power locks wont work, lights/displays won't go on, when i turn the key i get NO response. what the hell is this? could giving someone a jump start do this?
This is the same thing that happend to me like 3 months ago, was getting ready to go to work and nothing was working. Called the dealership they came and picked it up and said it just needed a new battery. I was like what the hell i only had the car for one year.

i had the battery checked on my last oil change, 2 months ago it was like 60-75%.
what's weird though is that if the battery was failing, the engine would still try to turn, lights would prob go on etc. i wouldn't expect this thing to be completely dead like this.

battery. no biggie. call Acura Roadside Assistance. Your battery is covered under warrenty.
When your battery dies, first thing wouldn't work is ENGINE. lol then radio doesn't work, maybe no light(depends on how much remaining charge is there)

I don't know if it's the same, but I went to the car wash the other night and had a similiar problem as you. I jiggled the shifter (5AT) in the park position and the power went back on. It's worth a try.

If you have no lights once you're in the car, check your neg terminal on the battery. Mine rocked off once in my garage at work. It looks like the cable connector won't tighten down enough to clamp on the battery.

Hey guys -
thanks for the feedback. So the dealer tells me today that they just had to jump it and now the batter is reading 75% again. They can't replace the battery until they can duplicate the failure. My concern is that nothing gave an indication that THIS failure was about to happen either!
Do you guys think i'm safe if they don't replace the battery and I'm driving around on a recharged battery???

Go home and leave the lights on inside the car or something and wear the battery down to nothing....twice. (if you can) It will be so dead....you will get a new one then on warrantee. They should have just replaced it to begin with. Bad side of this way....you still have to deal with the same issue again! At least that will get the battery you want anyway?
then again...maybe they could tell this on the event recorder (lol) I doubt it.

yeah the service chick has the nerve to tell me "well there are so many electronics with these cars you have to use them every 3-4 days or they will die." i'm like this doesn't even have navi, i know for a fact that you can leave bmw's w/ more electronics alone for over a month w/o a problem - she tells me that ALL honda's, toyota's, lexus, etc have the same problem.
whatever, I guess the warranty on the battery is pro-rated so even if this happens again outside warranty it shouldn't be too much to replace.

Have you or someone replaced the battery recently and not clean the battery terminals? I had the exact same problem on my 92 Honda Accord just a few weeks ago. No power whatsoever. Didn't crank, no radio, no dome light, etc. Had my mechanic clean out the battery terminals and haven't had any problems since. Try this first as it's a cheap/free fix.
