My 06 TL's front seat rocks forward and backwards - anyone else experience this?

When I'm in the driver's seat of my 06 TL, I can rock the seat forward and backward a little bit. I first noticed this when I was braking.

While I'm trying to just get used to it and ignore it, I'm wondering if there is something I can do to fix it like tightening a bolt or something. Has anyone else experienced this in their car?

I haven't checked the passenger side to see if it does the same thing.

check the bolts that hold the seat down. if they are tight, then part of the upright is broken. it happened on my truck. im 6'5 250, seats arent meant for that much

thanks!

Oh my goodness! I'm so happy! Thanks! I thought the original owner wore it out. I hope this fixes it. Now to see if I should try to have my out-of-warranty TL repaired under good will. Or maybe I should try it myself...hmmm

I think the rocking is gone

I took the seat out and examined the washers and all four of them appear to be properly installed.

I took all four bolts off anyway to double check.

When I reinstalled the seat, the rocking seemed to be less evident.

So far I haven't been bothered by rocking so tightening the bolts seemed to have helped.

My 01 CL did this, the seat back and seat bottom were moving together, it was the whole seat that moved/rocked. I tightened the bolts which helped, but it was still moving. Other than looking really cheap or like a seat from a city bus when I adjusted while driving, everything seemed fine. I just though the motors and mechanism loosened up.

I noticed my 06 having this issue as well. I have only had it for two months and it is starting to bother me a little. I'll check out per the TSB instructions above. Thanks!

Wow - good info.... My 06 TL has been doing this for a few months but I thought maybe my stereo installer messed something up when they installed an amp under my seat. I'll have to make an appointment with the stealership ASAP...
