My 05TL is noisier than a rental compact Cobalt
Came back from a trip during which I rented a Chevy cobalt for a couple days. Now I am back with my TL and feel that the Cobalt is way smoother. The TL has horrendous vibration between 1000-1500 RPM, and the vib transmit trough the cabin, steering wheel. I felt like my hand is loosing sense of touch after grabbing the steering wheel for a while.
The engine also makes a clicking noise when accelerating at low speed. THe infamous heatshield problem again? yuck.... I start missing my 03 TL-P........

There are people who didn't have problem or didn't notice problem with their 3G TL, and there are also people who has problem and don't want to acknowledge that they made a bad decision.

The low profile and wider tires appear to contribute the rough and vibration feeling to the steering wheel. The problems are the wheel balancing and alignment that manufacturer didn't have them done right.

I have an 05, and it rattles more and vibrates more than my other cars. In fact I drove my Grand Cherokee today because I could not stand the rattles and vibration anymore, knowing that I have my third attempted fix this monday for about half a dozen issues. ACS seems to think they'll make a difference this time, I doubt it but hope they do.
I love the styling and the features, but the fit and finish is pathetic.
I feel your pain.

Rattles!
I guess I must be lucky with mine. Its perfectly quiet, no rattles whatsoever, even with the inside being slightly ripped out and put back together for a sound system.

Just another reason we got the 6mt, no vibrations at all.
The ride is on the stiff side, but we dont mind that so much, its the trade off
to go around corners nicely.
I dont have any rattles (yet), and wind and road noise are low.
The Passat was very smooth also, maybe more smooth, and a more compliant
ride, but it did not go around turns as well...

I think it's best for you to sell your 3gen TL, before it depreciates too much and get a nice CPO 2gen TL, or even a Chevy Cobalt. That way you can enjoy your life better knowing you're driving a better car than your 05 TL.
Seriously, if your car is giving you so much grief, why don't you just get rid of it?

I agree that the vibration that you feel through the floorboard and steering column is unpleasant at times (I think that having the AC unit on all the time contributes to some of the vibration). The rattles are there, but I managed to minimize them as much as possible.
Unfortunately unless Acura comes up with another TSB like they did a few months ago (which didn't solve the vibration problem), we are all going to have to live with it until we are ready for our next car.

If you sat in my TL when the rattles get going it's not little TICKS. The damn headliner rattles, the passenger head rest rattles, the passenger window rattles, the front dash rattles, the back tray rattles, the rear driver side passenger window rattles. These arent little rattles, these arent little ticks. If they were they wouldnt be on their third attempted fix with ACS all over it like a fat kid on cake.
Yeah I'm bitching because my 6 year old jeep makes less noise.
Now why dont I sell it? First and foremost because I love the stying and the features, Im just furious that I cant enjoy the car because if I dont jack up the music I can hear half a dozen rattles at any given time. As for selling, I'd take a near 10k bath right away on the tl aspec, and frankly a few more tries and it's arbitration time.

Hello All,
I had rattling issues with the driver side window at first. I took my car to the dealer and they fixed the issue.
As of now I don't have any other rattles !
Thanks.

I'm going to start my own thread with comparisons with my old car too.. "Anyone notice how the 3G isn't as good offroad as a Grand Cherokee?".. Good thing I kept the GC when I bought my 3G!

I rented cheapest car when I visit Florida (Chevy Maliby) and it had less rattles that fucking TL.
I can not drive TL without music.
It rattles everywhere :
Just one week ago it started to CLICK when I switch from Parking to Drive and when I stop or move.I visited dealer in Brooklyn (New York).
Guess what they said: It is normal for TL. Idiots.
I hope I can ged rid of it ASAP.

i agree you should really get rid of your TL ASAP and stop bitching already (for your own good IMO). it obviously drives u nuts Sorry u got a bad one. Acura don't deserve ur $$$ on this one. I am sure you can sell privately and lose less than 10K. TL A-spec w/ rattles = 10K. keep urself sane and peaceful....priceless.

Obviously I'm over playing it a little. It is upsetting that the auto I purchased as my 'touring' sedan rattling more than everything else I own.
I wont sell it for any loss, if it cant get fixed I'll get my money back. (Already working on that) I wont take a bath because Acura doesnt have this one right. (mine)
