Multitude of Issues in one night
Multitude of Issues in one night
Hey everyone, new to the forums. Just got my first TL 3 days ago from a used dealership. So far I have only made one trip from dealer to home and last night a joy ride around town. Everything was fine.
Came home tonight and wanted to fiddle around with the systems like navigation; setting up home addresses and the HFL with my phone.
I was in the car and put the key on II, things were going smoothly when all of a sudden the navigation switched off on its own. It tried powering back on but just kept recycling. Put the key into I and navigation came back on, thought it was a minor glitch. Continued with fiddling with it until it turned off again and was trying to reboot.
I was a bit confused so I just turned the car off completely and tried to start it up again. I put it into I and II and navigation doesn't turn on. Sound system doesn't work and all of a sudden, the fuel gauge isn't read and then I get the a lot of indicators appearing on the dash; the TMPS, VSA, ABS and Brake.
At first I thought it was the battery, all the electronics were not responding and the headlights didn't turn on, only parking lights. But why would the VSA ABS Brake lights come on for just a dead battery?
I cannot ignite the car. When I do, the ABS flashes drastically on the dash and it sounds very off. The whole entire time I was in the garaged car, at 41 degrees and left the car parked the entire time.
What would have triggered the ABS and such? If it was a dead battery then its understandable but does that have to also do with the other indicators on dash?
Thanks for any inputs. I just find it really weird.

To the OP; you probably drained the battery from using all the electronics for so long. Get a new battery for it and search here for idle relearn procedure. Make sure you write down your radio presets and as well make sure you have the navigation and radio security codes!
