Multipule questions

Hello,

I have an 05 TL with 19000 miles on it.

There is a rattle in the left side of the dashboard around the cluster/steering wheel. Anyone experienced this?

Also, when I unlock the door it doesnt always say:"driver one detected"

The car seems to have also developed a vibration at about 70MPH.

And finaly the glove box seems like it is loose where it attaches to the dashboard.

I love this car, and I have had no problems with it, till now, and these issues have kind of been growing.

I have not had any experiences with the dealer here, just oil changes. Does Acura give you a hard time about warranty issues, or do they fix it right the first time.

I had a VW before this, and it was a chore to get anything fixed.

Thanks,

Morgan

Could the rattle you describe be up close to the area where the windshield intersects the dash on the left? If so, I suspect the tweeter. Mine does this some too, in the cooler months. There is a fix.. just do a search and you will find it.

As for the glovebox, I believe there is a fix for this also. Try a search for it as well.

I never take my car back to a dealer unless I absolutely have to do this.

a warranty is your best friend

take your car to the nearest acura dealership and let them know what your issues are ( make sure you list them so when you arrive you don't leave any out ) they should have no problem inspecting your car and fixing any finds. just make you call ahead and let them know what your plan is and that they have a loaner they can provide. good luck!

There are official fixes for both issues.

A new computer module fixes the "driver one not detected"

If the vibration is more of a drone, a bracket installed on the tranny slightly dampens vibration.

If the vibration is coming from the tires, you need new tires.

Rolling out red carpet................o

Morgan Perez, welcome to Acurazine and the 3G TL Forum.

I have moved your thread to Problems & Fixes where it logically belongs.

There's lots more good information and good people here to enhance your ownership experience with your Acura.

I suggest you check out the 3G Garage sticky thread on the main index page. There is a wealth of information there.

Use the "Search" function to find threads that address your issues. Someone once said that "there is nothing new under the sun." Most questions have been asked and answered and you will most likely find them with a topical search.

If not, start a thread of your own. Check the index and make sure you are in the appropriate forum and give it a try.

If you have a comment or question, the members here are very helpful. Or, you can send a private message (PM) to any moderator for assistance.

Again, welcome to our family.

Dave

Is this an intermittent problem or a continuous one?

If it is continuous, you might have to link the transmitter to the car. To do this, press the Lock and Unlock buttons at the same time. If the LED comes on for one second, then it is linked. If it blinks twice, that means it is unlocked and you need to repeat the procedure. If it still doesn't come on for one second, or if it is an intermittent problem, you will have to take it in for service.

These instructions are also in the owner's manual under "Remote Transmitter".
