motor swap..

ok..so i blew my motor on my 06 6mt, with the blower. Now im looking for another motor.
now, can it just be any j32, or does it have to be from a previous 6mt?

I was gonna do a swap with another member who bought a type-s motor. Apparently the type-s motor was from an auto and doesn't bolt up to the 6mt tranny...is this the same with all j32's aswell??

or, would a type s motor be a simple drop in??

ok..so i got another quick question, that actually my mechanic pointed out to me today..something i didn't even think about..

but would i have actually been better to get an 02/03 motor rather then the newer ones? because the older motors aren't drive-by-wire or something..so he was mentioning they are actually more tuneable and a little quicker..
which makes sence..i never thought of that..

Certainly not familiar with performance enhancements when deleting the drive by wire system, but the '02/'03 TL 3.2 engines are only 9.8 compression compared to 11 for the 3G, and consequently 33HP less, 225/258. Guess you could increase the boost to compensate though.

The 2G Type-S (slightly higher CR) would be nice.. the 2G motors have true headers which is why they're desirable. Our 3G motors have the headers built-in & converge to the precats, of course slight differences in the valve train as well.. other than that, and them possibly be cheaper to obtain, not much difference. FI apps could possibly be better with a 2G engine but not sure on that one.. Also if the 2G motor isn't DBW then make sure you aren't losing anything by not having it.. otherwise steel toe boots work just as well..

hmmm i think with the breakthru of the turbo for the 3G TL, we have more tuneability with our motors...
