Motor Movement

Quick question: I believe my front motor mount (the one right in front of the header in between the motor and the radiator) is shot, becoming shot. I had my gf put the car in drive, hold the brake and give it a touch of gas to see how much the motor shifted. It seems to shift, a LOT (to be specific, it rocks backwards towards the cabin). I can visibly identify my passenger side mount as ripping on top, but what is an acceptable mount of movement from the motor? I have a feeling I will be doing the front mount as well... Thanks.

make a video and show us. "a lot" can mean different things to different people. however, look carefully at the mount, when it rips it usually leaks some fluid out on top

If the engine rocks back or jumps up, then replace both of them. They go out all the time.

Thanks for input, and yes my explanation was rather vague. I will grab the side mount and front mount in the coming weeks and have at it.
