Moisture in Headlight

Does anyone know if any Acura Dealer in Canada will replace under warranty, headlight assembly that has moisture in it. Acura Canada indicated they have no TSB regarding this despite me telling them the U.S. Acura dealers are replacing them under warranty. I don't think Canadian TL headlights are any different from the US ones. By the way I have a 3rd Gen TL.

they should since it is a big hazard, the HID's are very high voltage and can spark a fire if they get near moisture, such as in you headlights. As well the headlights will start to cloud over on the inside and reduce driving light, another saftey hazard.

Thank you CSMEANCE. Do you know if Acura in U.S. are changing these lenses under the extended warranty. I know in Canada they're not. I was quoted $950.00 for a replacement. As a safety issue, you think they would replace it up here in Canada but I was told they won't.

I'm new to the group and will be posting my vehicle info shortly once I figure out how to. It is a 2005 TL with Navi.

I too am curious about US dealers covering under warrantee. In my case, it would be under good will. I complained of vapor in my headlight housing back when I had about 35k on my '04. Now I have double that. I can clearly see cloudy residue left on the inside of my housing from the dried vapor. This diminishes the amount of light that is projected onto the road.

I was reading other posts on this issue where headlight assembly units were replaced under warranty. The question then would be this; if Acura won't replace it and the HID shorts out and starts a fire, who is liable.

Honda North America would be liable as they were aware of the issue and know it's potential dangers, and because of a fault in their product (seal of the headlights), it caused damages.
