Moan during tight turns
I've read through several threads on here trying to find the source of my problem, but most of them simply reference a cv joint needing replacement or the power steering recall. Maybe someone will have an idea on what else it could be.
When I accelerate through a turn like in the parking garage or a U-turn, I hear a moaning type of sound coming from the engine bay (I think). I initially thought it was the power steering pump low on fluid, so I filled it and it helped at the time, but the sound soon came back. I had the recall service done last year. The sound is really noticeable during left turns, not as much during right turns and only while accelerating.
It does not sound like a cv joint going bad.
I didn't have the tranny fluid changed at my last service because I had so much transmission work done during the few months prior to then that I figured there was no reason considering the amount of highway driving I was doing at the time. So now I'm about to change to GM friction modified but stumbled on this thread. Might I just need a fluid change? Any other ideas? Any help is appreciated.
P.S. I've got an '05 6mt with 72k and the 100k ext warranty.
