Mirrors move on their own...Bizarre
OK, so this is a peculiar issue and I am stumped. This is on my 2004 TL, just so we're all on the same page.
The problem is very intermittent, and my warranty ends on the 14th of this month, so I hope to figure out something before then, so Acura has to fix it.
While I'm driving the mirrors (Glass part, not the whole body of the mirror) will move inward. As if they have another setting. If I park the car, and hit the #1 driver setting, the mirrors move back to where I have them programmed.
Has anyone heard of this issue before? Too weird...

Thanks,

Thanks,
Are you using key #1 or key #2. If you are using number 2 then it may be going to the saved settings for that key. Which explains why it returns to the normal position when you hit the #1 driver setting button.

If it was just one mirror, I'd say it was a faulty swing position sensor (one in each mirror).
Other possibilities, not in any particular order:
The power mirror controllers receive power from 3 different fuses in the under dash fuse box. #6,#7, and #20. If one of those fuses is blown, the mirrors will still move, but kind of go haywire when doing so.
Loose connection or short somewhere in the wiring.
There was a TSB for replacing the seat memory controller, but I don't really think it has anything to do with the mirrors (TSB 04-005).
The important thing is to get this documented before the warranty runs out, preferably duplicating it with a tech in the car. At least get to your service department and make it known to them. Good luck and let us know what happens.
If you have the mirror setting to either left or right, and then put it in reverse it turns the mirror downwards to help you see. Then, when you put in to drive or in gear it moves back to its standard setting you had it at.
I have been having a mirror problem as well except my passenger side tends go inward and it gets stuck when going into reverse. This only happens every now and then. Even with the warranty, I decided for something like this I am not taking the car into the dealer cause it may work again and then I am charged $98 for a stinking diagnosis fee and the parts for this thing is probably like $38 to maybe $50

So, it goes inward and not downward? If that is the case, then it is probably your adjustment switch is defective (specifically the pcb that the two control switches are mounted to). If you tap on the mirror control switches, does the mirror do anything? Like, move or shudder? When it goes inward, put your hand on the mirror and see if the motor is still driving it. If so, you may want to have someone look at it soon. Wouldn't want you to burn out your drive motor; as this would cost you extra in the long run.
A suggestion, pull the fuse for the mirrors and let it sit that way for a day or so. Then, plug it back in and see if the problem goes away or is less frequent.

I haven't tried any of these things like tapping on the mirror control switches. The only thing I have done is switched the switch control to the driver side mirror or sometimes set it in the middle so no mirrors will have to move. The passenger side starts binding once it goes inward and other times it will work fine. I will see about removing the fuses to see if this corrects the problem
