MIRROR flexing out
i was backing out of my garage and yeah..... ended up hitting the mirror on the way out and the top is now flexing out.
there are two clips on the top that wont go back in. so i was wondering if there is a way to take it apart and push the clips back in
thanks,
mik

I would try removing the mirror and see if you can gain access into the area that you need to.
Here is service manual scan of how to do it:

Let us know what works for you. My PS mirror has looked like that ever since I've owned it. I guess the previous owner did the same. I really only notice it when I wash the car. I've tried pushing it back in as well but no luck. I know the mirror just pops off to get to the inside of the mirror assy. If the mirror has to come off, I believe the door panel needs to be pulled. It doesnt bother me enough to do all that. lol. Good luck.

I recently went to change my failing mirror actuator and found out that there are torx screws behind the mirror. Removing these will let you kind of separate the two halves of the side mirror assembly. It will still be attached at the car door but there is alot of play in it. At this point you can try to line the mirror back up and reinstall the screws.
Problem with mine was one of the mounting holes for one of the screws was broken, I guess from the impact. I ended up using some washers to make it so that the screw holding the side mirror turn signal also held the two halves of the mirror together. It is still apart a tad at the bottom but from the top it looks way better.
Hope this helps.
