Metallic, scratching sound- front passenger wheel

I just purchased a used 2005 TL with 31,000 miles. When the car is moving forward from a complete stop there is a metallic, scratching sound coming from the front passenger tire. Like dragging a rake accross metal. This happens without using the brakes. The dealer hasn't been able to figure it out so they are sending it to an Acura dealer.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? I've read a few posts about squealing sounds when braking but it seems like my issue is different.

Thanks

Could be the metal wear sensor on the front brake pads is touching down on the rotor. Check the brake pads on the front. If it's the sensor rubbing don't worry since they cause no damage to the rotor, but you need new pads. If the pads are worn to the metal, then it means you probably need rotors and pads.

More than likely it's the wear sensor, on Honda's and Acura's sometimes they just barely touch even with no foot on the brake pad.

Well they disassembled the entire thing and determined that there was something loose rubbing on the rotor. The noise is gone.

Also if the caliper seizes after awhile you'll start hearing the most annoying sound.

Haha, yeah thats usually the brake pad backing plates grinding the rotor into fine dust.

BEWARE OF OVER-EXCESSIVE BRAKE DUST BUILDUP ON YOUR WHEELS, FOLKS! Its a sign of a sticking caliper.
