Manual transmission leak (axle seal)
while trying to figure out if my car its burning or leaking oil me and my mechanic found that the tranny its leaking fluid from the seal that connects to the axle. i had both of my axles replaced with the advance auto parts axles but that seal has nothing to do with that right?
im trying to look for the part not sure if its here.

also can anyone provide me with part number for the gm fluid.
thanks.

Interesting, I was just under my TL doing an oil change and noticed some leaking tranny fluid and I traced the leak up to where the axle meets the transmission as well. I also replaced my axles 6 months ago with GSP Advance Auto axles. The leak is only coming from the driver's side axle.
I am hoping that its just some residual fluid that slipped past the seal when the axle was being replaced. I cleaned the fluid off and checked again a week later and a tiny bit more had leaked out. At this point I'm not sure if its a bad seal or just residual fluid working its way out. I checked my fluid level and it was still perfect so if it is a leak, it's extremely slow.

Here I come!
Should be this one...

I would get it from the dealer since it's just a few bucks. It has a spring on the inside of the seal that wears out or comes loose. The seal is very easy to change out, but not sure how hard it will be for you guys to get the axle off. You'll need a seal puller and make sure you remember which way the original one was facing.
By the way, the leak might be slow when it's stopped, but it's a faster leak when the axle is spinning and flinging the fluid around.

By the way, please confirm the part numbers prior to ordering. I don't remember if it's a different one for each side....
