Maintenance code B3

I know this code includes a small list of things.
One of which is tranny fluid. The tranny fluid was swapped out about 7 months ago, roughly say..6K mi?

My question is, when it throws the B3 code is that triggered by a timed interval or cause my tranny fluid really needs swapping?

The fluid needs to be changed. All Acuras are programmed to take regular samples of all the vehicle's fluids. It sends these samples to the nearest oil analysis laboratory and gets the results back via Bluetooth. The used oil analysis tells you how the specific fluid compares to baseline numbers and if excessive wear is occurring. This is how the ecu knows when to signal the MID for you.

WTH are you talking about? ^^ the only thing the MID "calculates" is the engine oil life. you're gonna tell me that when the car codes for the TB change it says it's worn?

typically the MID will code something else along with an oil change it will usually be the next "scheduled maintenance item". my dealer did a B23 service on my MDX before i bought it with 25k miles (that was NOT what the car coded...they just do the next scheduled maintenance for CPO purposes. i would imagine that the dealer knows the trend in the MID codes typical around certain mileage milestones). at 30k miles my MDX coded A13. since the tranny fluid was already changed i skipped over the code and just did the oil change.

OP-you're fine. some people change the tranny fluid by time or their own mileage interval for peace of mind and ignore the MID. the MID does not send information anywhere via bluetooth. and if it does...then gwiffer better post his source.

I had the manual transmission fluid changed for the 1st time at around 110K miles. It was done when the spark plugs, coolant were changed. The dealer advised me that the code would be due next and asked if I wanted to wait or do it then. They were right-it did appear.

Just change oil and filter, rotate the tires if needed, do the inspections and you'll be good to go.
