Have anyone used this Lucas Oil additive on TL's transmission?
I would like to try this on my 2006 TL AT with just under 113,000 miles.
My TL doesn't have slip or is leaking ATF, but I'm having random thump noise coming from where the tranny is, only at very low speed. Noise is NOT heard always, very random, just as coming to a complete stop or just as begin to proceed once signal turns to green. Not every time, definitely very random. First it felt like something down there was not tightened or loose, Unable to find anything that's loose.
The noise is not clicking(from axles) or rotational(from wheel bearing), only at very low speed.
Some folks I talked to suggested using this "Lucas Oil - Transmission Stop-Leak or Slip", I don't have any leak or slip symptoms of slip or leak, but willing to try this additive if it's not going to harm my transmission to address the noise issue.
If anyone had experience with this additive, please chime in with your experience. I really want to know if it's not going to harm my transmission.
that doesn't even make sense... it sounds more like a motor mount issue.. why the heck would you put a oil additive for completely different issue..

Took the TL to a shop, mechanic test drove, inspected from below on lift, said he suspects nothing but transmission. Any suggestion where the noise may come from?

see if there is any side to side play (pull the axles in and out of trans/hub). That can cause noise if it's worn.
Also check your front suspension, if the tab in the shock is not seated in the fork on the front suspension it can make noise. Lower compliance bushing might be causing that noise, or ball joints also. Make sure suspension is loaded up when checking joints. Lastly check your inner and outer tie rods too!
If you are running OEM axles, check the rubber boot for deterioration (on the damper on the axle) as they tend to rust and snap.
I have recently replaced all four struts, both front with OEM strut assemblies, KYB sticks for rear. Originally replaced them all with KYB sticks, but didn't like the stiffness of KYB, replaced fronts with Honda Strut assemblies. Lower compliance bushings were replaced with Fastline 2-piece LCA bearings from Heel-Toe in July, no issue there.
All ball joints, tie-rods are still in rust free great shape. Original axles, CV Boots and dampers(on the axle) are also rust free, in great condition, leaves me to suspect nothing but transmission.

The creaking noise turned out to be from worn-out front left ball joint.
Actually, this front left lower ball joint had been replaced twice before prior to this problem.
The first, some incompetent mechanic damaged rubber boot on this with "pickle fork" while trying to loosen the ball joint. Took the TL to another shop to replace damaged ball joint. A couple of months later while trying to replace front motor mount, found this supposed to be NEW ball joint was covered with black electrical tape!
While trying to get that taken care of, yet another incompetent mechanic took 4+ hours to replace this NEWER ball joint in Oct 2017, it may have been the reason for short life of third ball joint. Just a few days ago, this mechanic took 1 hr 10 min for the same job with all hand tools, no lift. It matters to have a good competent mechanic for sure. I think I found a great mechanic for as long as I'm here.
