Low speed steering rotation

The topic is the best way for me to describe what is occuring.

The steering wheel is not ... what I would call vibrating (shaking all about), nor is the front end vibrating.

At speeds lower than 30mph, and specifically during acceleration to that speed and up to 45 to 50mph, there is a right (initial movement), then left rotation unassisted on the steering wheel - leading the car to turn to the right during slow(er) speeds. I'm clearly maintaining control of the vehicle, but it is quite annoying.

First time I noticed it was yesterday after driving about 220 miles averaging 75-85mph (Atlanta to Columbia, SC) when I came off the interstate and began accelerating to 55mph.

The amplitude of the steering wheel rotation to the right is greater at lower speeds, decreasing in rotational amplitude as speed increases and above 60-65 it is very minimal if at all.

I am in the need of new tires and am taking care of that on Tuesday morning as well as an alignment inspection to see if that may be part of the problem.

Wanted to get the thoughts of the AZ community. Searched and read most of the other alignment / steering vibration type threads and my scenario wasn't really matching up 100% with those situations in regards to front end vibration or the like.

Thoughts?

Sounds like torque steer aided by a possible lower tire pressure on the right front.

Ahah!

Good thinking. I mentioned that to myself earlier this morning. Totally forgot to check my pressures and adjust when I ran out this afternoon.

Will check pressure all around and adjust as needed.

Well, tire pressures on all four were within 2-3 psi, all four above 30, none above 35.
