Looking For half shaft seal

Hi all, need some help locating this particular part. I searched on acuraoemparts and found what I think to be the correct part I need
Part No: 91205-P0X-005

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/acura/tl-sedan/91205p0x005/2006-year/base-trim/5-speed-automatic-engine/transmission-automatic-cat/at-transmission-case-06-scat/?part_name=oil-seal-40x56x9-nok

Here is the problem: I noticed a small leak of trans fluid coming from around a seal the half shaft connects to against the transmission.

From the looks of it, the job doesnt seem to be at all that difficult to do but I may just take it back to the mechanic that rebuilt my trans to have him fix since I do have a warranty.
I doubt he reused the old seal when he rebuilt the job since it looks pretty new.

Aside from the seal needing to be replaced. Could the half shaft also be a problem since I have this small leak?
There is no vibration when driving and no other indicator to me that it needs to be replaced.
Just want to make sure the seal and half shift isnt something that needs to be replaced in tandem.

Thanks

That would be the seal. Clean it up with some brake clean, then try and make certain the fluid is
coming from around where the axle slides through the seal, and not from the outside of the seal.
Very unusual, but have seen trans cases scored/scratched when someone tries to remove the
seal and damages the case.

Thank you. It appears to be coming from in between the seal and where the half shaft connects to the trans. I had the transmission rebuilt back in April of this yr and seems this leak just recently started.
I read the paper work and I have 1 yr parts + labor warranty so I will call the mechanic and talk to him.

Thanks

Not normally. Sometimes the seal is damaged when installed, or even installed incorrectly in that they
are pushed too far inside the case rather than stopping even with the case. Sometimes they just wear out,
but that shouldn't occur within a year.

I dropped the car off last night but I didnt question him if that seal was replaced when the trans was rebuilt.
Hopefully I'll have it back by friday or saturday and he'll let me know what the problem was.

IT is strange within 7 months the seal goes bad ( a bit less than 10k miles )

Did they rebuild your trans or use a replacement rebuilt trans?
Some large shops keep transmissions in stock so when a bad one comes in,
they take the rebuilt unit from the shelf and do an install, then rebuild yours for future use.

Let us know how you make out.

before I took the car to get the trans work done. I made some markings with a marker to see if they rebuild or swap it out.
the markings were still there when I got the car back. safe to say they rebuilt it.

My question to them will be if they reused or replaced the seal. I asked him to put it aside for me in a box I left on my passenger floor board.

Chances are they didn't replace the seals.
Save a few bucks, keep the old and if a come back for the seals,
not a big deal as they've had the axle out before and have it replaced in no time.
