Sooo...yesterday, put dogs in car...AC on and radio/wipers going. Friggin come back and doors are locked. Had to call AAA. Thought maybe the dogs hit the door lock by accident. Get it open and on the drive home it locks again twice.

Mind you, I have it set to NOT lock at all when driving. Always have. I reset everything and try again...ok...now it seems like it's not doing it anymore. BUT...this morning I get to work and go to lock my car...no beep confirmation (and yes I have it set to confirm) and doesn't light up the parking lights when locking. Unlock is normal.

Any ideas?

 

Ok...update:
Messed with it a little on my break. I've narrowed it down. It DOES lock but it doesn't confirm beep nor blink the parking lights. It's as if the hood or trunk are open. When I get in the car though...trunk is recognized as being closed so can't be that. What tells the car the hood is closed? Is it a wire, or sensor? Maybe that's gotten disconnected or cut or something? Please help!

Can a MOD please change the title to something like Remote door lock confirmation problem please. I think my title seems like I'm asking a memory seat question and is getting NO traffic.

 

The alarm won't set if any of the doors, the hood, or the trunk are open or one of those respective monitor switches is sending an "open" signal. Does the red light in the top of the driver's door panel blink 15 seconds after locking the doors? If it does, then it's not a problem with an "open" door, etc.

You do realize that the system only beeps if:
1. You have it programmed to beep.
2. You press the lock button twice (within 5 secs)

Have you checked the fuses? (fuse #4, underhood box)

Have you tried the other keyfob?

 

I will try the other keyfob now. Yes, thank you for the response. I'm fairly well versed with the car and agree. I have made sure and triple checked that i have the setting to "beep on". In addition the parking lights don't light up. Hood is closed (rechecked multiple times) and trunk and all doors too.

Very strange...car auto locked on me yesterday. Which is weird...while driving too. AND another thing. Now coming out of the gym...it is doing whatever it wants. Sometimes responding the the lock button and beeping (always locks with the first click) and then unlocking whenever it wants.

I should add that I have the window rollup module from KP Technologies. It is also acting strangely...obvi if it doesn't beep the windows won't roll up. But just now it beeped and ignored me until I hit unlock again. Then my unlock on the keyfob started locking the door. I wonder if it's going haywire?!?!

 

Another quick update...keyfob 2 does the same crap.

Now it won't respond to the 2nd lock at all again. WTF. Is this a "brain" that can go bad on the car? If so I guess mine's had it. If not, do you think the KP Technologies windows module has done this? I can take it out if I have to.

 

My sister's 04 TL has this problem too. Her beep setting is on, yet it doesn't beep when you lock it even though the doors do lock. Her doors try to relock randomly when she accelerates past 10ish miles an hour. Really weird. I think it's a deeper problem.

Oh and her fob won't unlock her drivers door. She has to stick the key in to unlock it. Ghetto.

Does she have the window rollup module on hers? I'd hate to take mine off for nothing.

 

I have no idea what's causing it. She doesn't have the window roll up module or any mods on her car. It sure is maddening though. Maybe the lock pin down inside of the door is broken somehow?

 

no way...this is electronic related IMO. Maybe there is a door lock control module of some kind that shit the bed.

Ok. NEW update, and TY btw.
I disconnected the battery for 20 min. last night. Then retried this morning. So far so good. Reacting normally...lock/unlock/beep.

BUT...now the car doesn't recognize KEYFOB Driver 1. Like when I go into settings to set up whether or not it locks the doors etc it says that "settings not customizable with no remote programmed".

What gives?

 

Just link the remote to the car again; instructions on linking (holding down the lock and unlock buttons for X seconds??) are on the back of the fob and in the manual.

RDX-hmmm...do your parking lights blink when you LOCK? If so, you may be able to just change the setting from the menu. If they don't...try disconnecting your battery to reset everything. Which so far has worked for me.

yes, my parking lights are blink, but silently sometimes it is not enough, especially in hot summer day
the car is "beepin" if I press LOCK button twice. weird...
and there is no option to make "beep" in menu

if it's a 3 G there most certainly IS! lol.

 

He said it was an Acura RDX. I don't know if those have the beep or not.

 

True. My attention to detail is astounding. Is it possible our first year 3G tl has the option to change that in the MID and not the RDX. Seems unlikely.
