Let the Dash Cracking Begin!!!!

Ugh I am so pissed right now... take a look at the picture.

I just bought this car a few months back with 57k miles, it now has 60k. The one small crack was there when I first bought the car, the rest have been since then....I was so happy to buy the car but after reading the headaches posted on this forum about the dash boards, i am not liking my chances of getting this fixed

Sorry to see. The fix is very expensive, you're better off getting a dash cover like most of the other guys have done once their dash cracked.

Get a dash cover, simple. I don't even notice the difference and I've had a few persons tell me that it looks OEM.

sry to hear this...

Hate to tell ya, but it only gets worse over time. Mine started small and over the gauge cluster hump so I couldn't see it. Not there are cracks all over the place on the drivers side and one going from the windshield all the way down to the middle of the glove box on the passenger side.

agree with everyone else - get the dash cover and be done with it. Much more cost effective and looks just fine.

That doesn't look like it has the holes for the tweeters and the center channel speaker too.

seems like this happens a lot more on the east coast than the west. I'm thinking it has to do with the extreme temperature from summer and winter. it does happen on the west coast but no where near as much it seems. *knock on wood* my '04 with 73k miles (bought almost 2 years ago in Feb '11 at 53k) with no cracks good luck OP.

once the cracks start it will not stop. it has more to do with the drastic temperature changes. my cracks started to spread this winter after they stopped in the fall.

What a bummer... I have been dreading this in the back of my mind since I first heard about it, im guessing its only a matter of time before my 08 starts cracking.
