LED switchback question, aswell as REAR tail LED question

Hello,

Just today, as I was walking away from my car and locked the door, my switchbacks driver side flickerd, so I got up close and hit the lock button over and over and watched as 3 or 4 LEDs flickerd while the rest acted as it was supposed to. I got these switch backs less than a year ago and they're acting up, IIRC LED's last for a good while

ALSO, at the same time, I checked all my lights and noticed that my passenger tail light (bottom right corner) is out. At first I thought something was just blocking the LED's, so I opend it up and saw 3 or 4 LEDs were out/dim (bottom right corner) so my question is, do i have to replace that entire LED board (idk what to call it) or can I replace the burnt out LED's? because that whole board looks kinda expensive, expecially from the dealership!!!!

TIA

LEDs made by reputable manufacturers such as Osram etc tend to last much longer than Chinese/Taiwanese made ones (typical ones used for switchbacks). There are a few people who have had issues with switchbacks burning out on them after a while, the easy fix is to just replace them rather than trying to replace the SMTs.

As far as the tails go, I suggest you get yourself replacement board, here is an ebay auction for a pair of them (reasonably priced)

Once you get the boards you can try to replace the LEDs on the tails, I think TL tails use SnapLEDs.

As for the driver side switchback, I can relate completely. Sometimes I get the same problem, but after I start the car for a bit, turn it off, and lock the doors, it seems to be fine again. The problem that is more persistent is that, it doesn't flicker yellow, it just stays white. It has it's good and bad days, and I can't figure out the problem. Obviously all the connections are fine since it works.

As for the taillight, I've seen some dealer sites selling for $103, I don't know where that thread is anymore sorry. If you're under warranty, maybe consider bringing it in.
