LED Interior Question..

I just installed a couple LED's under my dash on both the driver and passenger side. I want them to come on when my parking/headlights are on. Do I have to run my hot wire all the way into the fusebox under the hood? I have the hot wire plugged in with the 30A wiper fuse inside the kick-panel fuse box for now, so they power on while the car is on. I am trying to use the fusebox inside the car to power these. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i know some people use the window lock button fuze when they hardwire their radar detectors...which i believe is on the inside. that one allows you to turn them off if you want even while driving by just pressing that button, it will kill the window power AND the LEDs

If I would've been patient and used the search method to discover that other members are using the fuse as a switch, that would've saved me the time from posting this thread and reduced the clutter in the forums.
