Leather Seat Rip Blues

Hello and thanks for your time,
As you can see in the image above, there is a tear in the leather in the passenger seat and the cushion below is now exposed. I know I can purchase identical leather liners to replace the torn leather but how is it properly installed? How can new leather liners for seats be stitched back onto the chair? Are there other options? Or similar experiences with good and relatively inexpensive solutions? Not sure what to do here.

I would get a replacement leather 'skin' if you will, and have a reputable shop install it.

You can do them yourself if you want. They are not stitched into place. They are held on by hog rings. You would need to get some as well as a hog ring tool. Getting the best fit sometimes can require steaming the leather to help shape it around your cushions. Otherwise any reputable shop can install them for you.

an upholstery shop can replace that one bit of ripped leather and have it match the rest for a lot cheaper than buying a whole new seat bottom cover.
