I purchased my 2005 TL a year ago used and park it outside in the southern California weather. It just started getting cold at night but is still warm during the day.

One morning I got in my car and noticed that the perferated leather inserts on ALL FOUR DOORS were drooping from the door panels and the edges of the leather pieces were hanging out! The dealer service department said they've never seen this before and wanted to charge me a fortune to replace the ENTIRE interior side of the doors rather than re-glue them in place.

I'm off to find a car upholsterer.

Has anyone encountered this?

 

My driver's side front and rarely used rear is doing this. The front is not really noticeable but the rear is. The perforated "leather" is pulling away from where it's tucked in. Haven't begun to try and fix it yet but the route will definitely be the same as yours, a local upholstery shop, not a dealership.
