leaking coolant
Hi,
I have an 05 tl with rought 55k miles on it. A few months ago I noticed that the coolant was low. The light wasn't on, but it was below minimum. So I topped it off. Well, I checked it yesterday and it was low again. Is it still under warantee? I know that the powertrain goes for another year, not sure if that's part of it or not. Does anybody know? It's not a bad leak, but I don't want to get stuck somewhere either.

make sure to check it when its cold the level lowers as the enigne warms up, check in the morning before you start your car and also MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY COLD BEFORE CHECKING THE RADIATOR CAP YOU DONT WAN'T BURNS ALL OVER YOUR BODY
I'm not saying this is your problem, but a few years ago I mysteriously lost antifreeze too. Never saw any on the driveway. I was told to change my radiator due to microscopic leaks. Didn't fix the problem.
All said and done it was a blown head gasket and due to it going on so long the mechanic said he heard bearing damage.
Got rid of that car soon afterwards.

Check your heater control valve (cheap plastic valve). It's located behind the block attached to the firewall by a bracket with a cable stretching to the control lever. Below is a related thread and picture.
I noticed the same.. did some digging and sure enough there was coolant all over the mount, brake & fuel lines. I changed it out.. kind of a PITA because you have to reach behind the block. No more problems since the swap. If this is your problem I'll post up how I did it or make a DIY thread.

Get a pressure tester and pump up the system when cold. Get it to 18 lbs and let it sit. The gauge will drop and look for the leak, if not found just keep it at 18 and you'll find it.
Maybe AutoZone has them as loaners. Just a world of caution. Even though the system is cold, it is naturally under pressure when pumped up, so when you remove the cap, do it slowly to relieve the pressure. If you just turn it off the coolant will spew out.
