I got the error "customizing not available until linked to remote" and I have looked up the fix for that. Everyone says hold the lock and unlock until it flashes twice. I do that, and press the select button, and it still gives me the error.

What am I doing wrong? I have tried this inside and outside of the car, with the car on and off. I just got the car last week and I am still trying to figure some things out. It is a 2004 TL with navi AT...

Any help?

I think you want the LED to flash once, as twice indicates the remote is unlinked.

I figured it out guys. Thanks for the all the help.

The problem was that I have 2 keys and I didn't know there was any difference, but one was a 'valet' key that didn't have the chip in it!
