Yesterday I noticed when I got in my 08 TL-S it didn't say "Welcome driver 1" in the MID. In the MID I scrolled over to the Keyless Memory Settings and it gave me the following message "Customizing not available until linked to remote". So for some reason my remote is not linked to the car. I can lock/unlock/pop the trunk okay. But no memory settings are working (seat, air, mirrors, etc.).
I searched in the 3G garage and found the instructions to reprogram the remote. I tried it twice with no luck. Any ideas? Can it be a low battery? Bad fob? I tried remote number 2 and it works fine.

I appreciate any help with this issue.

 

I just got my car about 4 weeks ago and it didn't say Welcome at first either. I followed the instructions on the fob itself "Press lock and unlock at the same time" and it started welcoming me. Was that what you did as well?

 

Linking (not reprogramming) the remote just requires pressing the lock and unlock buttons until the red light flashes-- does that work?

Reprogramming is to set up a remote to open the door locks, trunk, etc. on a remote which is not working with the specific car.

If relinking doesn't work, I'd change out the remote battery to see if that helps.

Wow! Worked!! Held the lock/unlock buttons for about 2 seconds until red light came on and went off. My "Welcome Driver 1" is back!! Thanks both of you. This site is invaluable.
