Question KEY FOB Help?

Looking to get another key fob for my 08 TLS.

Do I need to buy a new key fob and have it rekeyed and programmed prior to working ?

Is it going to replace an existing key or going to be a second key?

It will need to be programmed. There may be a walkthrough on how to do it or the dealership can do it and shouldnt charge you much.

Give your VIN to the dealership and they should be able to cut it for you.

IIRC, dealerships estimated charge on programming a key fob is about 150. It varies from dealer to dealer. Search around the forum, as there has been members on here who have manage to program theirs without the dealership.

edit I found this:

go to your local honda dealer, they charge 1 hr of labor to do it and it should be less than $100. I paid $65 at my local honda dealer.

You can go to a local locksmith and they should be able to cut the key also and program the immobilizer in the key. YOu can program unlock and lock buttons at home very easily to save some $.

Key Fob help

Hey TPR-10, I was just searching for replacement keys & fob for my 04 TL, and found this site -- replacemyremote.com. Do not know any history of this site, but just ordered 1 fob & 2 keys, because I am desperate. Just recovered my recently stolen TL (2 days ago) !! Check the site out, it has DIY instructions on reprogramming. My order cost $117.50 delivered. I will update when order is received next week. Cheers !
