Is there a cheaper option for obtaining keys for 05 tl? Dealer wants $80 for the blank and $100+ for programming the chip.

 

eBay can get you the key for about $80 or more. Heck, they want $28 just for the key blade without the remote part. I would assume there is somewhere that would have them cheaper, but I'm not sure where. I'm sure someone on here will chime in. $100 for the programming seems steep, but it is a dealer so you have to expect that.

 

Update for those interested. Local recommended locksmith cut and programmed the key for me for $90. Also gave me the sample key he cut to make sure it worked clean in the locks. That one good for lockout-just won't start the car.
