Just got my 3rd gear TSB done on my TL and now i have noise problems.
I dont know if it's the cold but i heard some popping noise when I made a turn but I couldnt hear the pop after the car warmed up. Also I hear this noise that sounds like a whine whenever im coasting on gears 3,4,5. Everytime the RPM is around 2K and dropping, the car starts to have this noise that sounds like being on an airplane from the wind resistance and it disappears gradually as i slow down. The noise is more imminent when it was cold and it became less noisier as i drove the car longer. Should I be worried or is this something that is normal after you get your transmission taken out. Everything else seems fine it's just this noise is annoying since i never heard it before i got the work done. Anyone that had this done experience the same thing?

I'd take it back and have them fix it. Strange how it seems some people get this TSB done have no more problems but some have 4th gear go bad or 3rd isn't totally solved. Also depends on the dealership and who has more experience doing these TSB's

it's strange because the longer i drove, the noise started to decrease. Everything else seems fine and the gearbox feels like butter but I still ran into the same situation where the 3rd gear would not engage all the way therefore causing the teeth to grind but now i can feel it not engaging so i would disengage the clutch a little longer and shift to 3rd. the popping noise is hard to replicate so i figured its the weather since it got close to freezing by our area.

I would never let them take apart my gear box when the gm fluid has worked for me for 5 years. GL with that, but cold weather does weird things to vehicles. Especially when they are not properly warmed up.
