Exclamation Just applied Duplicolor Shadow Chrome but...

I decided I wanted the chrome part of my 08 TL-S slightly darker. After spraying the clear coat, I noticed a slight overspray on one side of my front grill it looks a little bit darker. I blame the fact that I might have sprayed that area 1 max 2 coats over the other evened area. It was not apparent until I put it out to the daylight. My question is that can I still apply the dark base coat over the finished clear coat and get the same result with my little problem fixed? I'd greatly appreciate if you have any useful tip. Thank you.

I would definitely suggest removing the grill to paint it. Not very hard to remove

OP I think you are going to have to remove the clear coat in order to get the shade in correctly. I am only guessing here so maybe someone who is knowledgeable in painting could shine in better.

The only way to get it even is to repaint the whole thing, base coat then clear. That shadow shit is really hard to get even unless you go really dark. Id recommend just wrapping the grill, but I guess its too late for you now

I would like pics of it. Even though it's uneven in shade I have thought about doing this instead of the wrap I have. The wrap is turning brittle and looks like ass now so I have to either re-do it or go a different route. I hate the chrome lol.

I did this to my car as well and liked the look, but I've got a chip on the black chrome part and want to redo the whole thing without buying a new emblem. let me know if you figure out a good way to remove your over spray.
