JDM Tranny Swap

Hi all! I’m in the process of dropping the tranny on my 05 TL Automatic 148k. I sourced a replacement JDM from JDM New York in Valley Stream. My question is related to swapping sensors and solenoids. What exactly do I need to switch over to make it work in my car? Also, if anyone has any helpful advice or recommendations/tips/hints or “while you’re in theres” that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A lot of people use the 06-07 accord AV6 auto trans; therefore, that is where the concentration of information falls.
Check out the attachment, component swap items can't be to dissimilar for your JDM choice.

What do you mean by JDM? The car was never made or sold in Japan.

This appears to be what the OP is looking at:

OP's question is 'somewhat' answered (yellow highlight) on the vendors website & is compatible with the USDM 04-06 TL (magenta) from a donor JDM vehicle (green) in Japan.

What could go wrong?

So I finally was able to swap out the transmission. Like I said, I got the transmission from JDM New York. They advertise it as a JDM transmission. Whether that is true or not, I really don’t care. The transmission that I got came in and looked good. I drained the fluid and everything looked as it should. I also switched out the filter, again everything looked as it should. Before I put it in I swapped out all the sensors, switches, and solenoids. Not sure why you have to do that, but the end result is I have a new transmission in, I have no check engine lights and the transmission runs and shifts perfectly. For any of you looking to go that route, I went with JDM New York because they have a really good reputation, both on Google reviews and an overall Google search of the company. I looked at some other companies in my area and there were some horror stories that I read. Overall, I’m really satisfied with their transmission and the swap in general. If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out. Thanks for those of you that reached out with constructive input.

I’m in the process of doing this as well. I’m looking at a JDM transmission do you have any additional tips. Did you change any other components since car basically apart? Do you have any party numbers for example I want to change the axle seals and looking to get them from Acura ? First time doing this I already removed the transmission just preparing to buy the JDM replacement to finish the job but thinking about what else to do before I replace it. Thanks

This is one of many Acura part websites:
Genuine OEM Acura Parts and Accessories Online - Acura Parts Warehouse
To save $$$, find the part numbers for the components you need & search online for the best prices.
Just make sure to remember, if you want OEM parts, it's best to stick with a vendor like the one above.

If you want to save money on aftermarket parts, take the OEM part numbers & utilize the 'Part Number Search' tab on RockAuto.com.
