issue with 04 TL?
issue with 04 TL?
I have had my 04 for more than a year now.
I have an issue (since I bought it) that comes around occasionally and then corrects itself.
My dealer states this is normal, and since no fault codes show up, he says he can't find anything wrong.
Since this is the usual crap that dealers pull, I'm asking here.
This is the issue:
Car stiffens up: -steering gets too stiff, -car gets sluggish acceleration, -very hard to break, -rough ride.
This caused me to get into an accident few months ago, as the car becomes very tiring to drive when it is like this.
But here's the really weird part, after a week or so, it goes back to normal. How can a problem like this correct itself?
Its like I'm driving two different cars.
I tried to alter tire pressure, no effect.
What could be wrong?

Does the car ever have trouble starting up? Cranking a lot? Since these cars have power steering and brakes, a lack of power would cause those two symptoms and the sluggish acceleration and rough ride could be linked together to a hurting engine.
The dealer will only find a code if a check engine light was thrown, if not, there is usually no code to go on.
How long does the car behave like this? For a few seconds, minutes or longer? Does it change if you power the car off and start it again? Does it happen after gas refills?
Regards

I deleted your "car acts "stiff" thread since you asked the same question in this thread, and moved this thread to Problems & Fixes.
Welcome to the forum and I hope you can get this problem solved so you can really enjoy your TL.
