Internal FPR Question
Internal FPR Question
My car all of a sudden started bucking and spitting when I tried to give it any gas at all. Limped it home and pissed off a lot of people as I drove slowly through city streets the long way back.
I pulled the cage and put in my old cage and the car is back to normal.
Today I pulled the assembly apart and this is what I see:

Does this look wrong? I would think that clip should be holding in the silver piece.

Answering my own question. The reassembly of the pump was done incorrectly. If you look at the clip, it's in the tie wrap holding the pump assembly. The person who replaced the pump for me put it through the clip and when it was pulled tight, pulled the clip out.
Thankfully the clip kept the plunger from coming completely out which explains why I was able to limp home.
So if anyone is going to replace their pump, watch out for this. It's an honest mistake.
